Hello and welcome!

I have been trying to solve some digestive problems for a long time now, and, at various times over the past few years, there have been long lists of foods that I can't eat. I dread informing a host/hostess of my intolerances etc as I know it's a real pain for people. However, it doesn't need to be!

If you've got friends/partners/parents etc with allergies or intolerances, fret not! There are so many recipes that are gluten-free, dairy-free, yeast-free, sugar-free etc - and they aren't all made with wacky ingredients only available in holistic health-food shops! A lot of the time, you wouldn't know the meal was any different. In fact, if you cook from scratch, you'll find that a lot of the things you cook are probably safe for everyone anyway! It's often just a case of being aware of what products and foods will always contain things that aren't suitable and finding easy alternatives.

I absolutely love food and cooking, and I have been forced to experiment with all sorts of different foods that I probably would never have tried, had I not had digestive issues. I relish the challenge of cooking without things that you would think it would be impossible to avoid - and I never settle for bland, boring meals just because I can't have certain things.

However, I know not everyone has the time/inclination to experiment, so I thought I'd write a blog full of delicious, simple and exciting recipes that are suitable for most diets - and include some alternatives that I've tried and would recommend, as well as places to eat out if you're restricted by dietary requirements.

So don't give up if your girlfriend is gluten-free! Don't lose it if your life-partner is lactose-intolerant! Don't despair if your dad is diabetic! There is simple, delicious, dinner-party food for them all! I promise...
